Happy Monday All! : Hello I'm Clo

Happy Monday all!

Hello I'm Clo!

Today's video is my Vlog from my time last week in London. It's a long one for a Vlog but does feature my London adventures as well as my time at the VInspired awards, Pixie Lott, Neon Jungle, Elyar Fox  and Birmingham Airport!

Vinspired young volunteer awards 27th March 2014 held at London's Indig02. A truly inspirational and humbling event. CEO of Vinspired Terry Ryall on young people;
" Yes, they're always glued to their phones - and yes they are sometimes watching YouTube videosand posting selfless - but they are also busy setting up their community groups on Facebook, campaigning on Twitter and http://www.change.org/en-GB and even setting up their own enterprises from the palm of their hands. "

Speak tomorrow,
Love you lot!

Taking A Back Seat : Hello I'm Clo

Hello I'm Clo!

I hope you're all having a lovely and relaxing weekend! I have had two major, mega, massive lie ins that have allowed me to recoup after last weeks London antics!

This last week has been a real eye opener into what the year ahead has to offer and just how many opportunities life has to offer that are so close and are ready for the taking.

The VInspired awards blew my mind. (See YouTube Videos here) It was a truly incredible and humble night where people came together to celebrate the triumphs of young people within the voluntary sector. On my very late train home, I really had a think about my time spent in London; part of my day had been spent looking at pure luxury in Harrods, surrounded by wealth and greed. The evening, spent clapping, crying and listening to the stories of some amazing fellow young people who are making change for the better in their communities. They're talking and takling real hard hitting issues of abuse, cancer, religion and riots. These are the people that will front our world in ten years time. Their voices are heard because of this inspirational charity 'Vinspired' and I want to help in any way I can.

It was whilst chugging along on my Virgin train I realised I could contribute. I wanted to the moment I arrived at the ceremony. I felt empowered, inspired and totally ready to donate my time to this community of greatness.
I have skills that I can donate in order to tell the Internet all about these people that should be getting the major recognition they deserve and use the skills I have to help others and make you guys aware of what else is going on in the world, an added source of inspiration if you will.

I've been questioning my content for the past couple of weeks. I want passion. I want to create something more than a beauty blog. My YouTube started to help others and this idea is perfect for that ethos. I don't just want to be 'another' wannabe youtuber. I want my content to be engaging and make you think as well as being fun and quirky. So with all these thoughts swirling in my mind I'm taking a week off! Not literally, don't worry! This week I'll simply be posting VInspired content everyday for the next week from my impromptu filming whilst at the VInspired awards ceremony I shall also blog about the video upload each day. This allows me some time to refresh and replenish my mind and have a good old think about what content I want to create. I know you guys love celeb inspired stuff but I want to keep the balance of real life and real life contributions too. I'm a nerd and I want to create stuff that is technically challenging for me as engaging and enjoyable it is for you. I will obviously continue with my beauty, make up and fashion videos and blogposts too, so don't worry those wont be going anywhere either.

I just want to be more than just another number online. I want to contribute something incredible and give things meaning. I hope you'll all see where I'm coming from! I will, as ever keep you posted.

Lots of love,

Speak soon, Clo :- )) Like, leave a comment and respond :3

Pixie Lott Neon Jungle Elyar Fox : Hello I'm Clo

Pixie Lott Neon Jungle Elyar Fox : Hello I'm Clo

Paul Knightsbridge : Hello I'm Clo

Hello I'm Clo!

Hello I'm Clo and today I'm in London, more specifically Knightsbridge! I've spent the day exploring and seeking inspiration, now retiring in Pauls opposite Harrods having a coffee (Soya!) and an apple pasterie. Both are Devine!

I spent this morning complaining about the fact my face was orange and my neck pasty white and the fact my bronzed contouring was perfect yet too dark. My train was then delayed and then I discovered my emails weren't working all that and my website is still, a week later down. Safe to say I wasn't impressed, happy or optimistic.

I'm in London for the VInspired awards. Which are later this evening. It's going to be a great night honoring the work young people have done through volunteering over the past year, it's an event in very much looking forward to.

After boarding the correct train at the correct time I found composure and relaxation. Catching up on bits and bobs, odds and ends whilst on the train. When I arrived in London I hadn't got a plan, aims or anything which is very unlike me. I had started to vlog yet got lost in the bustle of the city, lost within the action.

With time to kill and inspiration to find, I chose Knightsbridge. Harrods, Harvey Nicks and plenty to see. Window displays, art and everything I needed.

I've wondered and walked for hours ! So hence why coffee and cake is needed!

It's nice to come somewhere new once in a while, to have a change of scenery and absorb other cultures even if it's only a stones throw away!

I'm heading back to Harrods after this, to check out their colour haul. It's fabulous, amazing a bacon of light the mac counter is as big as my house. Now I'm not overwhelmed or hyperventilating (yes, that happened) I'll be in a much better frame of mind to seek out what's new! Then I'm off to check out Harvy Nicks after I read a piece about their new 'Go To' woman Stacey Cartwright in The Times some weeks ago she sounds like my kind of entrepreneurial woman

So that's my day- I'll report back when I have more to add! In the mean time have an amazing day, enjoy life and embrace everything !!

Lots of love,

Clo : -))

Plaid Shirt and Disco Pants : Hello I'm Clo

Plaid Shirt and Disco Pants : Hello I'm Clo

Hello I'm Clo!
Today's video is a quick OOTD for you all featuring a very old (Vintage) shirt of my dads. It's a red and brown check plaid shirt he's had since the 80s. I've added a chunky statement necklace in brown beads and silver strands. Disco pants add a little rock edge and look great paired with the grungy lace up biker boots. Roll up your shirt sleeves to add a touch of attitude and don't forget your handbag!

Speak to you tomorrow,
Lots of love,

Colour On The High Street: Hello I'm Clo

Colour On The High Street: Hello I'm Clo

Today I found myself wandering, without a plan and I ended up in a big, busy high street prowling the shops, seeking inspiration for work and a bit of personal motivation. Fashion is my holy grail, my Beyonce to my Jay-Z.

It's nice that now summer is upon us, the high streets are again, starting to bloom and come out of their winter shells. Lush have really embraced the upcoming season by splashing quirky and daring coloured prints on their packaging and gift wrap.

It's odd how colour can spark creativity and settle a metaphorical storm.

I can't wait to see the windows and displays for summer! In the mean time you can seek some summery make up inspiration over on my YouTube channel.

Have a great day,
Love you lots,

Clo :)

Had A Bad Day : Hello I'm Clo

When you have a bad day.

Hello I'm Clo! Today I'm having a bad day!

So my day trundled on, I was bored, uninspired and wanted to be in bed watching playlist live and googling bridal make up looks (research project.) I basically wanted to be anywhere but at work listening to radio one. It wasn't even Fearne Cotton so that too harshed my buzz. An accumulation of events, feelings, thoughts and emotions led to this emotional slump and down right boring state. I wasn't in the mood for high fives, twerking in the office or even having a pick me up in the form of a Nescafé Double Chocha Mocha (Nescafé are not sponsoring me!
I'd rather be on a beach sorting out my attitude and lethargic issues but as that is not currently a viable option, I had no choice vomit to continue trying to run through water.

I didn't want to talk to anyone I didn't want to be online and I didn't feel like there was anything to look forward to ( what was I thinking!?  My life is fabulous!

When you're feeling down and out like this the best thing to do is chill the fuck out. Don't worry or stress and don't force a fake smile or force work out of you as the results will be crap and frankly a waste of any effort what so ever!
Kick back, watch a movie or two and re-coup until you feel better. If it lasts longer than a few days talk to friends or go see someone about it. It's most likely a phase that will pass as soon as it came.

Speak tomorrow when i feel refreshed and perky,
Lots of love,

Clo : -))

Tan Lines: Hello I'm Clo!

Hello I'm Clo!

I've had to take a few days off work and college due to a re-occurring, pesky eye infection. I'm feeling a little run down and lethargic and have a very exciting, important and unique weekend ahead so it's important i'm well rested and on the top of my game!

I've been kicking back and watching some old films like 'Just friends' and 'Just Married' as well as watching an abundance of awesome travel vlogs on YouTube. There are so many! I hope to document my holidays and adventures abroad through vlogs later on this year. I think it would be rather cool to document the adventures on the internet.

Finishing up my book was also rewarding! I've been wanting to finish it for a while, however with so much going on reading wasn't particularly high on the list of priorities. So i'm onto a new book tonight 'Tan Lines' features in my latest book haul video from this weeks 'SwapShop' series.

Whilst being at home i've had time to find a nifty pasta bake recipe for uni and got old photographic lighting out of the loft to try out and use at night so i'll be able to film make up tutorials even when the sun isn't out! I'm finding the sun in the UK to be very unpredictable and I can't film when it rains because of the noise, which makes filming in good light without rain and not in the middle of the day because of the glare very difficult when I'm trying to fit in everything else!

Life goes on and all that!

You can check out that video here and as ever I shall let you know how I get on with the book!

Here are the rest of the swap shop videos!

Keeping Touch, A Journal : Hello I'm Clo

Hello I'm Clo!
Keeping Touch, A Journal

On the 31st December 2013 I went out for coffee, pre - New Years Bash and whilst out I picked up a thick, rather heavy journal in which I committed to writing my also heavy, deep and some times lost thoughts throughout the year a head. A timeline in writing, my own life story. It's also travel themed which pretty much sums up my year ahead!

Since then, I've stuck to my word, I've written in it. Admittedly not daily, as that would take up a minimum of 8 pages and wouldn't provide a thrilling re-read of big and impactful moments in my life. I write when I feel i need to, I write about my thoughts, the places i've been and other people who cross my mind or walk on my path of life.

It's the 17th of March and so far i've written in my Journal seven times. Each time all about what's going on in that moment, at that time. When i re-read it, like I did the other day it occured to me how stuff in the moment and things that happend back then are now just drops in the ocean of life. They don't upset me like they did then and some of the people I wrote about then, don't feature in my life now.

We're constantly developing as people, just like the world around us is. It's a scary thought that you forget what you said or did and it's the words on the paper that remind you of situations and scenarios you were in.
I can't wait to read my journal in 10 years time and laugh about all the trivial things I've been through that I took as majorly earth shattering.

Writing, actually writing, not typing for me is the very best form of therapy. It gets it all out and once it's out, it may not be over but it's out of my swirling procrastinating brain.

(Whenever I think of 'Diary' or 'Journal' I always think of this scene from 'Girls' Lena makes me laugh so much, each and every time she does the 13 year old girl thing!)

"So what's bought all this up?"

I hear you ask.

Well! I've watched 'The Vow' twice in the last two weeks, which in my mind SCREAMS good film. I recently have assigned down time to films that I can just loose myself in. 'The Vow' not only made me loose myself, it made me cry. A lot, tonnes infact, to the point I had a sticky face and a wet pillow. i bet you all wanted that image!

If you haven't had the privilege to see the Vow, check out the trailer below.

The whole movie made me look at life very differently, you know a movie is a big deal when it makes you think deeply about life. 'The Vow' made me think about my journal and what would happen if I lost all my memories. Bare with me, I know this is deep for a Monday but I wondered how upset I'd be if I re-read all my previous thoughts. I certainly can say I wouldn't want to re-live many of the memories i've written about in my journal. That's for sure.

Be Warned!

Ex Boyfriends and bad friends - Be warned! If i turn up on your doorstep wanting answers and quoting my journal, Guaranteed I've lost my memory or alternatively I've gone bat shit crazy. (Possibility?)

After mulling these crazy thoughts over, I decided that it is a good thing to keep a diary, no matter if you love or hate the things you've written in it. Writing thoughts down is a stress reliever and allows you to get your current pressing matters out on paper without judgement or contradictions.

If you're struggling with life (We've all been there), Feeling down, or having a hard time. Get a journal and just pore it out. It doesn't need to be spelt correctly, neat or in a perfect diary with glittery bits on it.  Like Nike say, Just do it.

Love you lots,
Clo :- ))
