A Truly British Spring Clean : Hello I'm Clo

A Truly British Spring Clean : Hello I'm Clo

A Truly British Spring Clean
How you feel better emotionally and physically once you've had a spring clean and a
de-clutter is just fabulous!

So, this week i'm on a break from college before I go back for my final few weeks (EEK! i'll soon be a fully qualified MUA!) With me going to uni and what not, my parents have decided it's time to downsize and move house which meant that my first few days of my 'Holiday' were assigned to tidying and clearing out old 'Stuff' in order to make it easier to move house and ultimately, move into a more confined space when at uni (Halls, dreading it yet exciting!)
My mum is also on this crusade to move house before i spread my wings and fly so that I always feel I have a home and roots. She says it's a mother instinct and feeling. Perhaps i'll know what she's on about later on in my life!

So with polish in one hand, bin bags in the other and a hoover between my legs I set about the mammoth task to re-organise and de-clutter my bedroom. My bedroom is in the attic and is like a mini studio, My YouTube viewers will know what it looks like! I like to change it round everyonce in a while as I have the ability to move furniture and my bed. I think I like trying new things! I think the entire time i've been YouTubing I've had four room changes! Not to mention when i'm filming at Nans!

This is where this post gets a little whacky.... I'm into plants and Fung Shui, I also believe in energy fields and attracting the things you want into your life. I feel that my life needs a spring clean and as I sleep in my room every night I don't want to be sleeping in things that are briniging me down or within negative energy. (If i've lost you, I'm sorry!)
Given this challenge to re-do my room, I saw it as the perfect time to really go for it once and for all. This was a perfect opportunity.

A happy home has a happy cat!
(AWwwwwwww!)

After three long days of sorting, recycling and de-cluttering my bedroom now looks like it belongs in a magazine. Don't get me wrong, my bedroom wasn't a complete mess to start with, It simply needed to be refined and defined!  My room is pretty much divided into four sections; Office, Beauty, Wardrobe and Living and the bed is smack bang in the middle. Everything just feels so much better and I feel as if I've burnt off about 1,000,000,000 calories in the process!

I highly recommend throwing open the windows and having a good clean, it makes everything better. If you feel you're in a rut, the best thing to do is to get pro-active about your life and start with your living environment.

The cat is happy furthermore now she has a blanket over my bed all to herself.

Before now i've never cared for this British tradition of 'Spring Cleaning' but I'm now a firm believer! I think i'll do it each and every season!

I've been asked before to do a room tour and perhaps now I will! Keep your eyes peeled on my YouTube for homey related videos!

Let me know if you've done a Spring Clean and if it was worth it!
Speak tomorrow,
Love you lots,

Clo : -))

Colour and Moisture: Hello I'm Clo

Colour and Moisture : Hello I'm Clo

Colour and Moisture
Can we have both a lip colour and lip moisture simultaneously?
It's what women want but can what's available meet our high standards?

After years of struggling applying lipstick to a wonky and weakly lined lip, I turned to my last resort: Tinted lip balms. Primarily to add a little colour and give a more 'Alive' appearance. I've found my 'Last Resort' should in hindsight been my first port of call. Lip balms, tinted and colour boosters are now my go to lip colour staple, due to their pigment being strong but not so strong that it defines and highlights my lip difference.  I find tinted products easier to manipulate and work with. They're easy to remove when you make an error and are not so stubben as lipsticks, I also find that the tint lasts despite the numerous cups of coffee I devour throughout the day! (Coffee is mandatory!)

For people in a similar situation to me (Welcome fellow lip loathers!) I find using a Cotton Bud (Q-Tip) is great for moving tinted products into the little gaps and helps fill empty space without drawing attention to the lip shape itself (If that made any sense what so ever! If so Hurray!)

One product i've discovered that I really like is from the brand 'Palmers' that i've mentioned in a couple of previous posts SEE HERE. I really like their stuff, it loves my skin and for that I love it back! Palmer's Lip Balm in Dark Chocolate & Black Cherry is simply divine!
It was difficult to get used to at first as tinted balms are different from lipsticks and different to balms. I can't describe why, they just are. After I got over that hurdle i really started to enjoy using it. It keeps my lips norished and in tip-top condition as well as adding a little brightness to my otherwise bare make up face on a day off or as a little addition if not completion of a day make up.

For a couple of £$ its well worth giving it a try if you have combination to normal lips. If you have super dry lips it's probably best you treat your lips with something a little more nourishing like a balm or gel as this is in a stick formula and could potentially be drying after a while and no one wants bitty lips!

The red colour is really natural and gives an 'English Rose' appearance. It holds well and suits many different day make up looks.

I always remove my lip balm from my lips if I am re-applying make up for an evening as I don't want other make up products to by drying and make things flaky. It's better to just start a fresh. I also wouldn't wear this as an evening solution as it isn't bright or bold enough! That being said, i often re-apply very late at night and sleep in it, purely for the nourishing factor - no one needs lipstick when they're sleeping! It must be said though, when I wake up in the morning my lips feel fabulous and more often than not still have a tint! - Bonus.

Overall this balm has a lot of +'s and lots of benefits! The SPF 15 is always good even in the bad old British weather and the Vitamin E aspect is also great. I feel that Palmers are onto a winner with this balm as it offers more than others as well as a great pigmented staple red colour.

I can't wait to try this out in another flavor!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Speak to you tomorrow!
Lots of love,

Clo :- ))

Never Late For The Party : Hello I'm Clo

Never late for the party.

Cheeky little 'selfie' in the Westbury Mayfair toilets! (Classy bird here!)

Whilst trying on my gorgeous, dark, rich, navy blue jumpsuit last night in order to try on some new shoes and styling pieces  to create new season looks I realized how versatile a Global Babe jumpsuit really is and just how much I’d be lost without it.

We see it online, twitter and in magazines; all about how great it is to have one garment that creates endless different looks, however with a Global Babe jumpsuit you can change your look as quick as you change your mind. Say you're out for drinks with friends or have come straight from work, as a group you decide to go to a dinner or party. If you're wearing everyday clothes you'd perhaps feel uncomfortable at the thought of looking out of place or being underdressed. With my Global Babe magic fabric jumpsuit, I never have that problem. Regardless of colour I could make it work. I'd simply go to the closest rest room and re- think, adjust my jumpsuit look for something that is more suitable for the occasion, sleeves, no sleeves, backless or halter neck. I'd then turn to my make up bag for a sweep of red lipstick and perhaps a darker eye make up look and if I have some jewellery spare (I'm never without my accessories!) I'd style and complete my look. Being able to alter my outfit as opportunities come my way allows me to really live in the moment. It's a free feeling knowing that I'm dressed for any occasion. I'll never be late to the party because I can't choose what to wear!

A girl has to feel empowered as she does prepared. I wouldn't and couldn't be without my Global Babe jumpsuit - I wouldn't know what to wear and would be late for everything!

Love you lots!

The Classic White T-Shirt: Hello I’m Clo

The Classic White T-Shirt: Hello I’m Clo

-I rather Ironically write this post on a train after I’ve just split hot chocolate down the front of my freshly pressed crisp white T-shirt. #nightmare
So spring is here and summer is on the way, the magazine says go bare-faced for spring and the internet tells us that it’s time to take the jumper off for a little while, or until it rains again.

The idea of just a t-shirt, plain jeans and heels scared me a little… At first I was apprehensive because I wondered how I’d be able to express myself and my personality without bright colour, or prints and patterns.  But after looking online and giving the idea some thought I really have fallen hook, line and sinker for this simplistic look and t-shirt concept, so much so I’ve bought three white t-shirts in the past week. Because one obviously isn’t enough.  Potential fashion victim right here people!

I bought one from Asda for £3 and two from Tesco, again just £3. This trend is amazing, totally perfect if you’re on a budget yet want to move your wardrobe on into a fresh, new season with some staples you can wear and wear and wear and wear with anything.  I’ve come to realize that a white tee is the wardrobe door to accessories Narnia. It makes the focus lie on your footwear, your bag and your make up. It’s great to showcase other amazing and busy pieces in your accessory collection that you perhaps couldn’t pull off with some of your other printed and brightly coloured clothing in fear of clashing and clashing in a non chic way; Such as a clutch that’s studded to the hilt, or try out that garish colour of eye-shadow that you’re just desperate to try. Day-to night dressing becomes easier and makes it so that you’re never out of place or under-dressed for the party.

What I recommend:

Types of jeans: In my humble, personal opinion jeans work best overall with this look. I love boyfriend jeans and straight skinny. They define and frame the body and work with the classic white t-shirt tucked in or out. It’s a classic and elegant pairing and overall outfit. Add a belt for a defined look.

Jewellery: Statement pieces that make just that, a statement! Body necklaces that have angles, edges and pops of colour.  With jewellery you can add theme or colour. Texture is also added depending on the type and material of jewellery you wear.

http://imsorrywhatdidyousay.com/boom-necklace-3250-p.asp

Accessories:
Belts draw attention to your waist and can help accentuate your best assets and hide others! With a plain staple, simple and basic outfit such as a white tee and jeans allows your belt to be more zazzy. Feel free to add studs, prints and buckles. A scarf that's light is great for keeping the sun off you during the summery summer days. Go large with a clutch bag or large duffle bag.

Shoes: Go for a classic flat for a day with the girls, or pair with stilettos or white heeled sandals for the ultimate ‘Casual’ date look or ‘evening out’ outfit.

Make Up:
This is the time and outfit to try a summer trend colour, such as pink for light skins and purple for darker skins.

Work: For a work look, wear nude heels for a more demure, work appropriate stylish approach to dressing. Pair with a printed cardigan for an office chic edge, wear simpler jewellery and compliment the nude shoes with a light brown eye-shadow.

There really are endless options! Let me know your style ideas in the comments below and leave me your links to your blogs and YouTube videos!

Make Up Wipes The Wipe Off Trend : Hello I'm Clo

Make Up Wipes The Wipe Off Trend : Hello I'm Clo

Hello! I'm Clo and today is all about the growing trend of wipes and make up wipes in the UK. I was doing some online research a few weeks ago (Not related to this topic) When I came across Superdrug's 'Press Centre' for bloggers, like me. It's not updated very often (Shame on you Superdrug) but it does have some great snippets of beauty and make up information. This little slice of information I found pretty much fueled the rest of this post. It really surprised me how lazy we're getting and how complacent we're becoming about our skincare regime. Are our beauty standards slipping?
"Superdrug sales show time stretched Brits are moving to a wipe on, wipe off beauty routine as recent figures show sales of cleansing wipes have doubled (when compared to 2013). Wipes were once the preserve of the baby changing table but in today’s household you’re likely to find wipes in every corner of the home and it is the beauty routine which has seen the biggest change.
Superdrug sells wipes for every part of a beauty routine including those to apply fake tan, wipes to correct fake tan mistakes, or remove hair colourant marks after a home dye, wipes impregnated with insect repellent, and wipes with deodorizing properties. Wipes to remove eye make-up or nail polish are incredibly popular but it is the all- encompassing cleansing wipe which is seeing sales double."

Although we always have those times where we're pushed, on a deadline and need to do things ASAP, quickly and ultimately need things done yesterday. I never, ever compromise my skin care regime in order to fuel a quick make up fix. For example: last weekend I went out for my friend Laura's 19th Birthday (See the blog post here). It was a long night that became a very early morning. We rocked up at Laura's at 4 in the morning. Although the last thing I wanted to do was wash my face or get out my beauty kit I had no choice. My face looked like this: The make up had to come off.

Sleeping with it on was just not an option. You wouldn't sleep in a club so why leave the club on your face!?
I used my ever faithful Boots Number 7 Make Up Remover wipes until they were pretty much ginger, then used a facial scrub in order to remove the rest of my make up residue. I never like the feeling of having left over make up on my face or the tacky, sticky after feel of cleanser on top of make up. I think it's like most things; personal preference.

I'm not against wipes I just think we're becoming a little lazy. I only use one type of make up remover wipes and they fulfill all my make up needs.  As a MUA I get a lot of product on my face and my clients faces; it's tonnes easier to remove the first couple of layers of make up and product off with wipes then concentrate on more tricky areas with warm water and cleansers. I always have wipes in my kit they're great for fixing the odd mishap or uneven line.  I even baby wipes in my kit as they stop things getting messy and clean up any spillages quickly and efficiently. There really is nothing worse than having eyeliner pencil draw on anything and end up on pretty much everything you touch in your make up collection! Baby wipes for me alleviate problems.

My be-all and end-all Gospel / Bible wipes are Number 7's at boots. They are amazing. I can't beat them and neither can any other brand. They're mid price range at £7.00 for 30 wipes.  They remove everything from airbrush alien make up, waterproof mascara to late night 'Party Animal' make up that's running down your face at 3am on a Monday morning, trust me, I've been there!  The wipes are from their 'Beautiful Skin' collection and are suitable for all skin types and are hypo -allergic tested wipes.

I'll be the first to admit, I never buy them at full price. I use the boots vouchers that comes around periodically throughout the year where you get £5 off skincare, which includes these wipes meaning they're only £2 which is a bargain! They usually sell out pretty quickly because everyone's caught on to the deal. It's fair to say I go mental on the wipes when the offer comes up I mean just look at this pile!

They're just everything you'd want in a make up wipe and they don't smell funny either, like many other make up remover wipes. I can see the benefit of make up remover wipes, however i'll never use them on their own. I always cleanse and tone as well as moisturise after using wipes otherwise my skin just feels ew. Nothing will ever replace warm water and a gentle face wash for giving that clean, fresh and precise facial finish. I'll never get to the point where I use wipes as a cleanser - put it that way!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Are you and avid wipe user? Can you convert me!? or just let me know what your favorites are and what you'd recommend!

Speak tomorrow,
Lots of love,

Clo :)

Number 7 Free Make Up Box Gift : Hello I'm Clo

Number 7 Free Make Up Box Gift : Hello I'm Clo

Hello! I'm Clo today is all about the latest Number 7 Make Up collection free gift when you buy two number 7 make up products. I've had this box on the 'Must Write About' pile for about two weeks so please excuse my tardiness. The theme of this latest giveaway is spring! It's time to clear out and have your spring clean, as well as pick up a few spring beauty essentials and the latest make up trend products.

Number 7 have released lots of great products over the past year. There colour match 'Match Made' foundation (Although too light for me) is hyped and spoken about highly as is their cream stick blushers and highlighters. The blush is a beautiful bright pink that's just made for spring it's a pick me up cheek colour and the highlighter is ideal for having a pre-summer glow and radiance without having to add colour contour or bronzer. Perfect for pale skin tones like mine!

I bought two make up products in order to get my free gift. I selected 'Good Earth' trio eye shadow (Which I shall talk about later in the week) and the nail polish 'Pinky Pure' I spent £15 in total.

The free gift features 4 mini taster Number 7 products and arrives in a rosey pink coloured box thats design is adorned with pretty spring petals in a cool, paler pink. The box is tied and secured with a green tone based blue ribbon, the green /blue colour continues on the tissue on the inside of the box.  The box lid remains square, making it ideal to use as brush or mascara storage and the bottom opens like a flower continuing the theme of Spring.

The four mini testers are:
 Number 7 Skin Illuminator
Number 7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow
Number 7 High Shine Lip Crayon
Number 7 Exceptional Definition Mascara

Number 7 Skin Illuminator
'Radiance boosting beauty fluid' - Sounds good to me! This skin illuminator is designed to add a healthy glow to your look. Use it under foundation for some added radiance or alone to highlight your natural beauty.

It is available in two shades 'Pink' and 'Peach' the sample I have is peach. It is usually £11 for a bottle.

Number 7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow
The stay perfect shadow that is provided is the middle colour of the cappuccino trio. It's a great daily wear colour for pale skin tones and naturally adds some warmth and colour to the eye area and overall make up look. It has a slight light reflecting quality and is long lasting. It's a medium brown colour with darker underlying tones.

Number 7 High Shine Lip Crayon
'Delicate Pink' is the shade within the free gift. The colour adds a natural ambiance to paler lip colours and has light reflecting elements and provides a high shine, just like the name suggests. It's a subtle colour that's very wearable. Ideal to pop in your handbag for when you need that dash of colour.

Number 7 Exceptional Definition Mascara
Finally, last but not least is the Exceptional Definition Mascara. It's petite and compact, the perfect tester. This product is great to test out the brush and the longevity of the mascara. Another handbag or clutch bag must! This tester will suit any skin type, tone and make up look. Using a mascara sample helps you identify what it is you like and dislike about that mascara which helps you figure out what type or quality it is that you're looking for in the long run.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments below what your favorite number 7 product is and what you'd recommend.

Speak to you tomorrow,
Love you lots,

Clo :- ))

Confidence A Working Title, A Working Concept : Hello I'm Clo

Confidence A Working Title, A Working Concept : Hello I'm Clo

Hello! I'm Clo and today I'm talking about confidence, specifically confidence when it comes to people we're attracted to or people we'd like to get to know (Wink, Wink) I'm talking MEN.

Last night I went out to celebrate my friend Laura's 19th Birthday (Happy Birthday Lau!) Whilst taking time out from the dance floor in order to let our feet re-cooperate; I noticed a lad within a group standing close by who struck me as handsome and just had a natural essence of beauty, in the most manly way possible.

I was with Poppy and Abbie at the time and I told them that I thought he was attractive. Poppy said go over and introduce yourself. We joked about handshaking and stupid ways to grab peoples attention and discussed a concept that Abbie had found on Pinterest where people give others an
'I find you attractive'
card and they pass it on to someone they find attractive and so on and so forth. I'd also read recently about paying people compliments even if you don't know them. It can be as simple as paying a girl in a club about the way she's styled her hair or worked an awesome trend. It's just a nice idea of a cute gesture that could make someones day.

Back at the table I said how it's odd that even the most confident of people loose their nerve when it comes to other peoples beauty / essence / flare. There was no way I was about to get into a crowd of people to rock up to a stranger and tell them I found them attractive... Or so I thought! The attractive lad disappeared and I instantly felt regret that I hadn't had the nerve to go up to him. I'm fabulous and I live by that self affirmation - so why couldn't I go and pay someone a compliment. Poppy said I should have done it as Abbie watched on observing everything. As soon as he went past again I found myself getting an adrenalin kick. Before I knew it I was out of my seat declaring
"Bollocks to this"
I made my way into a packed club room to find someone I don't know, to tell them they're attractive. What. On. Earth!?  I found the Lad, tapped him twice on the shoulder and lent into his ear:
"I just wanted to say how attractive and handsome you are"
and with that I walked away but paused just long enough for him to say back:
"Thank you, you're really beautiful too."

Funny, as he hadn't looked at my face but polite all the same. So to the boy in the club wearing the 'Hell 00' shirt, thank you for allowing me to get out of my comfort zone! I had no other intention, I just wanted to let him know. The way I see it is if he had self esteem issues or anything else on his mind for that matter, he'd instantly feel better by being complimented by a stranger, I know I would and did later on in the night. I felt like I'd done my deed for the day but I ended up having a great time and making lots of people happy by just being me and being nice. We really should make the effort to be nicer to people.

The girls were in stitches when I told them and couldn't believe that I'd done it. It just proves nothing stops you doing something like you do yourself. Don't let your pride get in the way.

To summarise; Never ever feel someone or something is out of reach, just be fabulous and let the adrenalin of the moment push you through- what have you got to Loose?  Your life dosen't depend on this moment! You never know where it could take you though!

I'm going to pay my compliments to more people from now on, regardless of who they are! Be polite, be nice and confident as as far as personal confidence goes, you have to fake it till you make in order to be fabulous.

I'll leave it at that,

Speak tomorrow,

Love you lots,
Clo :-))

Hard As Nails: Hello I'm Clo

Hard As Nails: Hello I'm Clo

Hello I'm Clo!

As regular readers will have gathered, last week wasn't my best. I was a bit of a wreck really, in the most together way possible! Because of the stress of life and the boredom of the eye infection I somehow found myself biting my nails. I haven't been a nail biter in years, since I was a child. Now I'm an adult and more educated in the thing we call 'Life,' I find when I'm tired or run down for prolonged periods of time I'm more prone to eye infections, mouth ulcers and biting my nails! Last week just highlighted this hypothesis!

About a month ago I had my nails done twice. The first was a botched hard gel nail overlay and the second a much better, well presented set of pink soft gel overlays. I loved my Gel nails, the look, feel and confidence it provided me with. They provided the feeling of a matching set of super cute underwear, but proudly viable to the world.
(Perhaps that's a girl feeling!?
The only down side of these gorgeous looking gel nails were getting them off. The first set had to be removed by two people, which took an hour. That hour also took with it half of my ring finger skin on my left hand.
(Ouch, yes it hurt!)
The second time I had to do an 'At home' job. Which basically meant I spent a good 2 hours buffing gel, layer by layer off my natural nail. I had to take them off because of college. You can't have colour, gels or acrylic on your nails as you could catch people when you're applying their make up.
(Fair dos)

Since taking the gel off about three weeks ago my nails were fine, until last weekend I applied a coat of everyday budget/ drugstore nail varnish. I don''t know if my nails are in a transitioning period since the change in texture or if the product I used is dodgy but since then, my nails have been chipping, layers falling and are a little brittle. Then again, it could have been the harsh chemical remover that stripped my nails. Could have been a multitude of nail related sins. Then I began biting them! They've now gone from hot to trot, to down in the dumps. With this in mind I took action! Applying a clear coat of nail hardener in order to create a barrier to stop infection, potential chipping and me biting them! I'm less likely to bite with this nail coat on as it tastes super funny! I've also bought the Number 7 'Perfect' nail varnish in clear base coat and clear top coat in order to kick start my nail rehab!

My Solution!
I'm going to harden my way back to nail health! Adding a coat of nail hardener every couple of days, then once I'm seeing a positive sign of improvement I'll step it up a gear and apply a clear coat or perhaps a gloss if I want to spice things up!

In the mean time, I'm trying not to look at my nails or bite them for that matter!
Have you guys ever found your nails change? - Let me know in the comments below if they do so I don't feel like such a random alien!!

Have a great day,
Love you lots!

Clo :- ))

Press Day: Hello I’m Clo

Press Day: Hello I’m Clo

Hello! I’m Clo and today I’m telling you all about my recent and first ‘Proper’ press day. I’ve been press before but not in a ‘Let me show you around’ way. I got the best of both worlds with this one and saw two sides of the story. I was invited along and put on the guest list by Fiona, from Global Babe as I am one of the brands international ambassadors, she also put me on the list as a blogger, as well as an ambassador.

I arrived after a squished journey with Virgin and being hot under the collar as well as overcoming the stressed caused by the closeness that had just occurred between myself and a strangers leg. Tres awkward. I caught the tube from Euston and within twenty minutes I was outside, opposite The Ritz in Mayfair. After goggling exactly where I was supposed to be and headed on foot in my new Supergr trainers that screamed FASHIONISTA.

( I don't know what's up with my feet in this picture, my foot circulation is fine! I promise!)

I found the hotel the event was being held at quite easily actually, I detoured and didn’t follow the map, as usual. Some things never change. Come to think of it I made really good time! I was an hour earlier than scheduled and headed straight to the rest room when I arrived at the Westbury then after a sweep of lipstick I was ready to go.

When you go to a press day they have a guest book, very much like a wedding where you put who you are and who you write for. I signed in and greeted Fiona and began my task as ambassador! I talked about skincare and the way in which a Global Babe sunhat protects your face, neck and shoulders from harmful sun rays and is the first hat ever to be approved by the Australian skin protection agency. I met lots of amazing and enthusiastic bloggers and free-lance writers as well as stylists. It was quiet, then it would get super busy really, really quickly. It was great to meet the people behind the blogs and experience the event from different perspectives.

Although the event was great for meeting new people and talking about something that can prevent skin cancer as well as make you look fabulous in a multiwear-way Jumpsuit, I also experienced the side of fashion people talk quietly about in case they offend anyone or make a bad name for themselves or others within the industry.
The bitchiness was clear. I had one woman point blank ignore me. So incredibly rude and I had another tell me that no one knew who I was or why I was there; she pretty much tore me apart then dropped the conversation as soon as Grazia Magazine arrived.
I can’t wait to put that woman in her place with success and kindness .Out of principle I will not purchase that brand and I won’t name them as they do not deserve the promotion. I strongly believe we should treat each other as equals. Regardless of whether the magazine is big or small, the blogger is ‘YouTube Famous’ a ‘Guru’ or has ten subscribers; everyone should be treated the same. Everyone deserves respect and everyone has to start somewhere. I could be the next Tanya Burr for all she knows! Actually, the same woman told me I couldn’t have a bag because they were for ‘Press’ I took a bag anyway. What can I say!?

I also overheard a conversation of another woman who was discussing her dislike of bloggers within the industry. I just don’t get this narrow minded view. Bloggers make PR and Press people’s jobs easier, not to mention the brands! Blogger; large or small bring things to peoples attention and help emerging brands break into the market. She also disregarded the fact some bloggers get paid. A teacher wouldn’t teach for free so why expect a blogger to? She also said there was no way you could make a living from blogging. Tell Michele Phan that.

Perhaps it’s age or the development in technology, maybe it’s a mixture of them both. The advancement of tech may make others who rely on more traditional methods of PR unsure of what’s coming next career wise so they do what anyone does in that situation, Rebel, Disregard and talk utter rubbish. New blood is running through social PR veins.

PR interns feel they have to prove something so act like they’re above everyone and many editors of women’s magazines hold themselves very differently again, as if they’re better; once they’re broken down, chatted to, they relax but on the surface they’re very guarded. It really is the great divide between free-lancers, bloggers and editors.

Despite these issues, nothing ever gets in my way, in fact I go out of my way to help others who choice to be spiteful. They can’t handle that. I’m naturally a helpful person and if a job needs doing I get stuck in and that’s exactly what I did, there’s no point in sitting and watching someone struggle with something when you can help.

In contrast, I found the staff at the Wesbrury very helpful and kind, they went out of their way in order to help us. Drinks were available throughout the day and there was plenty of food available from afternoon tea to a range of ham as well as sushi nearing the end of the day. It was all very ‘Society’ people!

When going around from brand to brand we were told about the brand, its consumer and what its specialty was. We weren’t shown around every single stand which allowed us to roam free. It was all very casual you could look at anything and speak to the designer if they were there or their independent PR rep. It was fun seeing new brands and new concepts. The clothing wasn’t 100% my thing, it’s luck of the draw whether it’s bang on your style but the make up and shoes made up for it!

At 6pm it was time to pack up. It’s very different when the press have gone home and everything gets dismantled. People still think fashion is glamorous 100% of the time the reality is not Devil Wears Prada, though many act like it is!

I feel overall I benefited from the event, I met some lovely people like Tona from Suitcase magazine and the people from Lace Face. Life is full of funny people and you find these people by funny experiences!

I hope this post has read as positive as possible as I’m not one for negativity but I can’t bare the thought of people not getting the real story of the world of fashion.

Speak tomorrow with another, more positive vibe full post!

Have a great day,
Love you lots,
