Travel: Coney Island & Luna Park, New York

After a few days back to back sightseeing, it was time to give our legs a break! We had a nice long sleep in, then headed south, to Coney Island. It's a bit like Brighton / Blackpool, it's got those sort of vibes. Set on the beach, lots of food places and fun fair rides to go one. We had a free four hour rein of the theme park with our New York Pass, to took full advantage going on the rides again and again!

That said, I wasn't too keen on the ones Adam wanted to go on, the thrill seeker wanted to go on all the massive rollercoasters that take you upside down, but those aren't for me. He did however manage to get me on the swing ride, where it lifts you up into the air in a twin and then spins you around. I pretty much regretted it the moment we were up in the sky, far too high and not enough seat, safe to say my language was interesting...

I'm not usually a fan of the fair, but I really enjoyed Luna Park, no matter how cheesy it may seem, we had a great time.

After a few hours on the rides, exploring the parks we decided it was time for food as we'd slept well through breakfast and lunch. There was a Grimaldi's pizza with a queue for tables, go we knew it was going to be good!

The Pizza was giant! We just added mushrooms and onions to a classic margarita, it was delicious!
After pizza, we strolled down the promenade watching the sunset sharing an Antie Anne's cinnamon pretzel, before heading back to Brooklyn.
It was the best way to have a chilled day but still see the sights New York has to offer, even if it was at a great height via a swing!

Speak soon,

Clo :)
